Asphalt Parking Lot Repair
Asphalt parking lots require regular attention and maintenance to keep them healthy and ready for use. With polyurethane repair products, your maintenance projects will be stronger, are completed faster and will last longer.
For a large asphalt parking lot repair, use FloMix applied with a polymer dispenser. For a smaller asphalt parking lot repair, use FloMix in buckets. First clean the surface thoroughly. Simply blow or sweep all debris away.
When using polymer dispensed FloMix on a large asphalt parking lot repair, if there are any cracks or potholes deeper than 3/8th inch, use a bucket of FloMix to hand-fill those first. For smaller repairs, simply begin with FloMix. Place the aggregate provided in the FloMix package into the asphalt pothole, without going above the damaged area. Using FloMix, carefully pour contents of bottle “a” into provided 5-gallon bucket then add special sand. Next, shake bottle “b” thoroughly and pour into sand mixture. Mix FloMix with a paddle-mixer, using a drill. (In colder months or when there is little time for the repair, catalyst can be supplied as an additive to speed the reaction.)
When mixture is completely wet, pour FloMix onto asphalt pothole or other asphalt parking lot repair and use a trowel or lute to smooth material into cracks. When damaged asphalt parking lot repair area becomes sufficiently smooth, toss topping sand by hand over repaired area to create a uniform look and feel.
For asphalt parking lot repair areas where the damage is broader but not as deep, use a polymer-dispenser machine to apply FloMix. Spread material over the asphalt parking lot repair, starting at the edges. Use a squeegee or lute to create a smooth surface. Gravity enables the material to fill in cracks or uneven surfaces naturally. Once the material has self-leveled, apply sand. The sand should be applied shortly after the material. Apply topping sand until it looks dry.
When the entire asphalt parking lot has been coated, check the surface. The repair is almost done when the material is dry to touch and can support your weight. At this point, sweep off the excess sand and do a final review. If any areas may have been missed or look uneven, touch up those areas. The new FloMix asphalt parking lot repair can be ready for traffic in as little as an hour.
