Concrete Highway Repair

Once the closure is complete, remove any loose pieces-- rocks, stones, broken concrete. Since highways have such fast-moving traffic, the concrete tends to be fairly clean and likely won’t need to be swept or blown clean.

It is important to have complete access to the concrete highway repair area so that material can flow freely in order to fill in the void under the slab. Find the most direct access to that void and place Concrete Welder using the polymer-dispenser machine. Once the void has filled and you can see the polyurethane rise, cover with specially-coated sand. This will ensure that the FlexSet will stick to the surface. Next use FlexSet to fill in the highway concrete repair area and restore the grade.

Open bucket of FlexSet, carefully pour contents of bottle “a” into provided 5-gallon bucket then add special sand. Next, shake bottle “b” thoroughly and pour into sand mixture. On cold days or when there is little time for the repair, supplied catalyst may be added to speed the reaction.

Spray a light coat of vegetable oil on the paddle in order to keep the paddle clean. Place the paddle in the pail, turn on and mix for one minute before adding aggregate. When mixture is completely wet, pour FlexSet onto highway concrete repair area and use a trowel or lute to smooth material into cracks. When damage is sufficiently smooth, toss topping sand by hand over concrete highway repair to create a uniform look and feel.
