Q: I have a depression (birdbath) in my driveway that I just sealed. I poured a five gallon bucket of water in it to see how much FloMix I would need to order. It looks like I'll need approx. 6 gallons. I'd like the repair to look as neat as possible by blending in to the existing driveway. Two questions. (1) If I buy 2 3 gallon buckets, is it ok to let the first one cure and then apply the other the next day? (2) Can I tape off the birdbath to a neat square and successfully float the product, then remove the tape or is there a better way to achieve a neat finished appearance? Thanks A: Keep in mind that FloMix comes in 3-gallon and 5-gallon kits. That means that the kit arrives in a 3-gallon or 5-gallon bucket, not that it fills 3 or 5 gallons. It can be misleading. The coverage is approximately .4 cubic feet. You can use aggregate and fill it in lifts but there is no need to wait between buckets. The material cures in about an hour. You can tape it off with duct tape and it will look much neater. |

Q: 1. How much Flomix would I need to fill roughly 16 (discontinious) sq ft. of asphalt potholes/ depressions averaging roughly 4 A: It would take about 12 kits adding black diamond aggregate to fix the area you described and no you can not split a kit. You should mix and use one kit at a time to repair the area it covers. |

Q: My front porch and stairs is concrete and has small pits and divets in it. Will this work to fill in those? I would then like to paint the concrete after it is repaired. A: Our FlexSet material will fill the small pits and divets on your front porch and stairs. You then can paint them. First making sure that you roughen the surfaces covered with the FlexSet before painting. |

Q: I have asphalt meeting up with concrete I would like to seal the two together. I have water where they meet and the water is getting inbetween the two and I am getting frost heave because the soil is saturated with water. How can I keep the water out Caulking did not seem to work it just pulled away from the asphalt A: FlexSet or FloMix would seal between the asphalt and concrete. Its ability to expand should seal between the asphalt and concrete. To place the Roklin product the area needs to be free of water, completely dry. |

Q: I used FloMix to fill a low spot in my driveway. I would like to order another bucket to coat some of the areas that are alligatored from 30 years of weathering. None of the areas are cracks or holes in the surface. Most seem to be areas where the asphalt was not compacted as much. I am concerned that the fine gravel is just too course for my purpose and perhaps that I am wrong in thinking of spreading the FloMix on top of the surface. None of the areas would be more than about 1/2 an inch thick. Can I use sand instead of part of the gravel or will that cause the patch to be less stable? Could I thin the mix out by using more liquid? Thanks,Al A: The repair you describe is well-suited for our FloMix product. It can be placed as thin as 1/8" using sand. The thicker you place the FloMix, the courser aggreate should be used in the mix (3/8" rock in the mix). Remember to place sand on top of the FloMix when you finish the surface and before it dries. |

Q: Sidewalk slabs are not aligned anymore. One slab was pushed up by about 1/2 inch.Would you recommend A: There are two ways you can fix the uneven sidewalk. You can grind off the high edge of the sidewalk to match the other edge. Or you can use FlexSet material tapering from the high edge of the sidewalk down to the rest of sidewalk. |

Q: Ben.......I have recently poured the apron of a driveway. There is a 3/4 A: I would use Roklin FlexSet to fix your problem. I would also recomend adding 3/8" dry and clean rock to the mix to make it stiffer and stronger. I would taper the product from the top of the apron to the street. This should protect the edge of your apron. The repair can be driven over an hour after it has been poured. |
