Q: I have a parking lot that is 120 feet by 70 feetI need to coat it and fill 4 pot holes. They are 3feet wide by 3 feet and 8 inches deep. What do I need and what is my cost? A: The two pot holes you described are very large. They would take a large amount of FloMix. It would take 16 FloMix kits and 16 25-pound bags of rock, costing $11,600. Smaller holes could be filled with FloMix and the parking lot seal placed over the repairs within 30 minutes. Good luck with your repair. |

Q: Does this stuff work in the cold? We are in Iowa and it gets brutally cold here and if it doesn't work please be honest. All of our potholes have ice in them. A: Our material works in cold temperatures. You can add catalyst to accelerate the setting time. Our material does not work well in water or ice. The pothole should be dry and free of moisture before using Concrete Welder, FloMix, and FlexSet. In the past we have used a torch to completely dry out potholes. Good luck. |

Q: What is the best way to repair cracks in my concrete driveway and how long can I expect the repair to last? A: The best way to repair a concrete driveway is to use roklin's Concrete Welder. The repair should last five to ten years or longer. |

Q: How long can I expect the crack filler to last with winter temps often at 15 degrees and summer temps up to 85 degrees? A: Several things may effect how long crack filler products will last. Among these are heavy truck traffic, rain, temperature and the age of the highway. Roklin products have been used in the Northeastern United States and have performed well for six to seven years. Concrete Welder and FlexSet work so well because they have bonding qualities and flexibility unlike other repair materials. |

Q: Ben,I'm trying to get an idea of how often we need to do maintainance on a typical concrete highway. Are there any guidelines. A: Concrete highways are designed for a 50-year life span. Every 10 years the surface should be ground and damaged slabs replaced. Other than that it is up to the local maintenance crews to do what is necessary to keep the highway safe. Some routine maintenance repairs should include filling voids, cracks and other needed repairs. Asphalt products have been used to make these repairs in the past. Repairs using Roklin products have lasted much longer than other products. |

Q: Hey Ben,If my concrete driveway cracks after a cold winter in Ohio which of your products would you recommend? Thanks,Trey A: To fill the cracks you would use Concrete Welder in cartridges. If the damage is fairly significant and you want to do the repair in winter, you can use a bucket of FlexSet and order the catalyst so it will cure quickly even in cold weather. |

Q: I would like to add a slope to my back patio because water pools in the middle after it rains. It is about 11 X 5 feet. What would be the best way to do this? A: Most likely you would want to do this with concrete because a patio of that size would be cost-prohibitive for FlexSet. However, it would last longer and set up much more quickly if you used FlexSet. Should you decide to do that with FlexSet, you would want to pre-place rock on one side so that you could build it up to about an inch. Then you would trowel it down to the other side to about half an inch. That would provide enough slope for drainage. |
