Safety
Roklin Systems places great emphasis on safe handling and use of our products. Please consult the following resources for information about polyurethane safety issues.Safe Operating Procedures for Isocyanate Based Products
The polymers used in Roklin products are polyurethanes, based on MDI type isocyanates. The following will provide useful information on the safe use storage and handling of isocyanate-containing products.
Isocyanates are beneficial in our systems because they result in end products that cure quickly at ambient temperatures and exhibit good physical properties.
Isocyanate containing products are safe to use. You should always read the product label and MSDS before using any Roklin product.
Overexposure to isocyanates may cause skin, eye, nose or throat and lung irritation. In rare cases can lead to skin or respiratory tract sensitization. There is some limited evidence that exposure can cause chronic, diminished lung function in individuals who have become sensitized.
Roklin products have been tested in open air applications and results show exposure levels well below OSHA maximums.
