Catalyst Questions and Answers

Q: How do I use catalyst?

A: Mix the 1-ounce catalyst into the B-bottle and shake thoroughly for at least 30 seconds before pouring the B-bottle into the bucket.

Q: When do I use it?

A: Use catalyst when the temperature is under 58°. If temperatures are in the low 60’s but it is windy or there is no sunlight, catalyst will provide a faster cure time.

Q: When would I not use it?

A: Do not use catalyst when it is hot outside as the cure time will be too quick to work with the material.

Q: Why should I use it?

A: This will speed up the curing time to open the repair for traffic.

Q: If I add more zip, will it set up even faster?

A: No. We don’t recommend using more than 2 bottles per kit.

Q: I’ve already mixed the bucket. Can I still add the zip?

A: No. This may cause uneven curing.

Q: I forgot my gloves and I got catalyst on my hands. What should I do?

A: Wash thoroughly with soap and water

Q: I didn’t use all the catalyst. How should I dispose of it?

A: Dispose of according to Federal, State and local regulations. Treat it as you would a can of paint.
